What’s up in Brussels? Discussion with EU interpreters, online (1)

• Dr. Katalin Fedineczné Vittay started working for EU institutions when Hungary joined in 2004, first as a freelancer, then from 2006 as an interpreter-official, and from 2012 to 2021 as head of the Hungarian language unit. Based on her 17 years of personal experience in Brussels, she will report on interpreter life in Brussels.
• Attila Török passed the EU accreditation exam in 1994. He has been interpreting freelance for EU institutions since 1998, with regular assignments since 2005. Attila is also a university lecturer and translates volumes for both domestic and international publication.
• Dr. Zsuzsanna Sassiné Riffer has been working as a freelance interpreter in the Hungarian market since 2013. She successfully passed the EU accreditation exam in March 2025. Zsuzsi will discuss the examination process, preparation, and her personal experiences with the exam.
