The Budapest University of Technology and Economics’ Centre for Interpreter and Translator Training along with the Association of Professional Language Service Providers (Proford) are re-launching, after a two-year hiatus, the joint “autumn translation conference” that had been held for the previous 11 years: the St. Jerome’s Day’s Encounters. This year’s event will be held on September 30 and October 1, on the feast day of the patron saint of translators, St. Jerome.
The conference will build on Proford’s Translation Business Day conference traditions. Instead of conventional presentations, it will feature practice-oriented, interactive panel discussions, workshops and master classes that bring industry representatives together: universities and translation service provider companies, freelance translators and interpreters, students and instructors, beginners, advanced practitioners and long-time experts in the field.
